My journey through the blogworld

As you might have guessed by this time that I keep reading a lot of blogs, or at the least have subscribed to a lot of them and read those that interest me most. There are a few categories under which those blog feeds can be grouped.

• Personal - This is the largest category I think in which people tend to discuss their personal dilemma, their hopes and aspirations, their lament and love. A couple of them are of brilliant expressive writing and I love to read them (i.e. whenever the author's grace this online world with their talents!). Most of them are from people I know personally.
  
• Financial Markets - These are content based blogs, where there is good and bad advice on which stock, mutual fund or bond investment to bet on. Some of them give a very good overall picture and some tend to lean towards one or the other.
• Personal Finance - Most of such blogs are American, very few from people in India. Well, I think if the consumerism in India keeps rising the way it is doing, it won't be far when we are also discussing issues like which debt to pay off first based on the cost of the debt, and what strategy to follow to do that. (But then there are people like me who can benefit by investing in companies involved in such operations!
• Professional Domain and Work - These are mostly blogs on SCM, and/or blogs on my current area of technical work. Heavy duty stuff, not all of which makes sense and on which I break my head to understand.
• Miscellaneous - General advice on career, life and related news.

Well, some blogs are a mishmash of things. Others portray a multitude of events on a single theme - this is what I like best. Being able to hold onto a philosophy in all walks of life, in all day-to-day activities. In all this meandering, I also leave comments on posts for discussions' sake and have managed to ruffle some feathers. There are yet others who find my posts and my comments interesting enough that I have to invited to private blogs and have readers writing to me through email, although that number is not very high

Anyways, what I wanted to do post a list of links to the good posts from what I have read over the last week. The recommendations are purely from my personal opinion. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy it!

I am ready to learn again

Since sometime the comments section on my blog was disabled. While the exact reason cannot be ascertained, it bears mention that I was going through a phase wherein I did not want to learn from you! I was going through a phase where I was trying to learn by reading more than from discussion.

Well it has been somewhat fruitful, as might have been visible somewhat from my intermittent posts. I have been following the most fanciful of all material things: the Sensex from the Bombay Stock Exchange. While I don't profess to know even 10%, I am good enough to find that wealth creation is about changing your lifestyle and mindset, the latter more so than anything else.

Besides that there was the internal battle within self about migrating to foreign lands. And it was not all about the lure of the green lucre. I gradually have discovered that in the enterprise application space I am more interested in the business part than the actual technology implementation. While I can and will write code when required, I somehow cannot see myself doing just that. I have come to realize that it cannot be done staying away from the center of action. So am currently biding my time and building intrinsic value.

This blog of mine will now tend towards my materialistic trials and tribulations. Hopefully the philosophy will remain same.

Why??

Why did I move my blog here??? Since I was making a new beginning anyways, so thought might as well shed as much baggage as possible. Simple, ain't it!

Well there are a few other things, besides those that I mentioned in Metamorphosis. Essentially more realization. I think I am antithetical to blogging as such. According to Google, the word blog means an online diary of thoughts and ideas and lotsa bitching about the world in general and people in particular.

But with my recent status of having become free from such human emotions, I am experiencing a more general wave of life passing over me with not much pondering and much less philosophizing, something that I was given to a lot. These days it's more of hearing, reading, absorbing what pearls of wit and wisdom that the most uncouth and unlearned might have to disburse.

Ergo, the endless hours spent on the internet, blogs, news, other social bookmarking sites, wiki's especially wikipedia. So this blog will become more of an information site for myself and those voyeurs interested in what helps in cooking my thought.
