An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Couldn't be any simpler than that!

Extremely interesting story but oversimplifies the ground realities.
Firstly, calling Obama a socialist is like calling Bush as human rights champion. (The younger one)
Secondly, I am in complete agreement that Socialism is bound to fail (if implemented in totality). I am pretty sure Obama and his policy makers understand that. I particularly like his stance on Healthcare reform, having done a little bit of research into Healtcare system in the united states myself. There are systemic inefficiencies that need to be addressed. Also, just about 5% (in the new plan) would be required to use the government run Healthcare (because they cannot afford private insurance). This is not socialist at all compared to UK where every hospital is run by the government.
(I can go on about this and also about what things we can learn as a country, but that is separate issue).
Indeed! Couldn't be any simpler. Very well put - Hadn't come across this side of 'why socialism would fail!'..
I wanna simplify it further..
1.Life of a human being is not an exam..but just a gift of journey from HIM.
It's we who have made this an exam..forgetting the gift of Almighty. We think ourselves as SUPER..but we are NOTHING..the only thing that makes us SUPER is that HE loves us.
2.Socialism is not possible without discipline and modesty.
We should inculcate discipline and modesty in our children from the beginning..Do we?
